Things to Do

Do as much or as little as you like on Navini Island

On Navini Island, your time is your own.
A major decision is whether to snorkel around Navini’s reef, join the complimentary morning outing which may be to the local village, dropline fishing over one of the neighbouring reefs, snorkelling around bombies and over bright coral walls, or visiting other island resorts.

From the Island, you can explore the coral reef sanctuary, take out the hobie-cat sailboat, borrow snorkelling gear to watch the colourful fish, try the sailboard, spyboard, kayaks, or the seacycles. All complimentary.

  • 5 star ratingPure enjoyment! My husband and I loved our 3 nights at Navini (wished we had booked for longer)! The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious and the premier bure on the beach was everything we could have asked for. Two of the excursions included amazing snorkelling (the best we have ever seen having visited both Samoa and Vanuatu in the last couple of years). One excursion to Muscat Cove and Plantation Island was Ok (the families with children enjoyed swimming in the pools). I think we were taken there to compare resorts and reinforce the fact we had chosen one of the best islands in Fiji to vacation on - couldn't wait to get back for lunch and to do more great snorkelling right outside of our bure. Would definitely recommend to stay at least a week if possible. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later (I hope).

  • 5 star ratingI'd give 6 stars if I could This is the perfect resort for casual relaxation. From the moment we arrived we felt part of the Navini family. The hardest decision of my day was whether to relax on the extremely comfortable double daybed, hammock or sunloungers. Replies to emails before arrival were prompt. Arrival times are flexible.Henry, based on Vitu Levu, can pick up anytime to transport you on the half hour journey by road to the Vuda Marina to rendezvous with the boat. There is no jetty so it was shoes off to paddle ashore. There was quite a swell when we arrived and we had to transfer into a smaller boat which would have been quite a challenge for the less nimble. The bures are all beachfront and privately screened by greenery. Not only was there a welcome fruit cocktail there was a welcome fruit basket in the fridge and a complimentary alcoholic beverage was brought to the bure to help us settle in . The bed was comfortable and the ocean was visible .There is no air conditioning... read more

  • 5 star ratingIncredibly special island and people My husband and I booked a portion of our honeymoon at Navini on the reccomendation of my colleague - and what a brilliant decision. The Bures are gorgeous with stunning views. The island itself is something else, really cute and pretty. You don’t go hungry there, the meal package is great and fantastic for vegans (me) and meat eaters alike. Snorkelling trips are fab and the water is crystal clear with diverse marine life just from popping your head underwater offshore. Mealtimes are generally held at communal tables (the other guests were really sweet) with the option of having a beachfront private dinner should you wish. The most generous resort when it comes to offering kava! Finally, and most importantly, Navini staff are just so kind - going out of their way to make vegan ice cream for me (thanks Vaulina and Ana!). Every staff member feels like family after just 4 days - plus the cocktails are fab too. I heard somewhere that the return rate is exceptionally... read more

  • 5 star ratingPerfect! Navini is a small, intimate island very appropriate for couples, although it may be excellent for older children, too. It's tranquil, and the bungalows open on your private beach. The cuisine is an exquisite European, Asian, Fijian fusion. We had 21 meals while on the island, and we didn't have the same dish twice. The outdoor activities include snorkelling, swimming, kayaking and sailing. The most important event is the morning trip (included in your package) that will be to a hidden snorkelling spot or a sand cay or a traditional village. Speaking of classic, the most crucial time of the day is after dinner when the staff entertain you with live music, local drinks (kava) and a local board game called Vindi Vindi (inspired by Carrom).
All in all, you get to experience the real Fiji like you wouldn't be able to do in any other resort. We felt like members of their family rather than guests. We cried when we left, and that should tell you a lot!

  • 5 star ratingService like no other... exceptional Whilst this is not a review for an overnight stay, my experience with the staff at this resort speak volumes of the service and hospitality at Navini.
We visited the island after a boat transfer between other islands went wrong and the staff here were only too happy to assist.
Looked after with coffee and the assistance of their boat to get us the rest of the way.... I can’t thank Navini staff and the resort enough.
    Impeccable help for weary travellers.

  • 5 star ratingAbsolutely amazing We had one of our best holiday on Navini with the whole family. We had absolute bliss. We loved the morning trips to different places, snorkelling was so beautiful. The staff looked after us and were fantastic with kids. They have tried to fulfil any request we had. And food was soooooo good. It was very sad to leave this paradise, but we will definitely try to come back again.

  • 5 star ratingA Peaceful Escape When searching for a place to unwind and disconnect from the hustle of city life, look no further than Navini. From the moment you arrive, the entire staff knows your name and is there to welcome you with kindness. They picked me up from the airport and drove me to the boat house where I was then put on a short boat ride to Navini. The fact that there is no tv or radio music playing anywhere on the island makes you listen to the sounds of the ocean and nature. There are no day trippers so there is a sense of calm and peace constantly. The food is absolutely delicious and they can accommodate any dietary requests. As I was a solo traveler I was sat with other guests at meals where we all became friends. It was such a warm environment. Surrounding the island is a reef where I snorkeled every day, sometimes guided by Thomas. They provide day trips for more snorkeling and visiting nearby islands.... read more

  • 5 star ratingA piece of paradise! Absolutely a piece of heaven on earth! I would give it 10 stars if possible️ Our family consisted of 8 of us, the youngest being 8 and the oldest being 90 and everyone of us were made welcome from the minute we were picked up at our overnight hotel to when we were delivered back to the airport in Nadi! Comfort of the guests is obviously a top priority for the owner and her staff. We were greeted by the staff learning each of our first names and introducing themselves to us and with a refreshing glass of fruit juice. Their attention to each of us never waivered. We got to know most of them by name and had the opportunity to visit with them and learn about Fiji, their traditions and lives. After meeting Simone, the owner, the first night, it was obvious that this wonderful place is special and that she pours her heart and soul into it. ... read more

  • 5 star ratingAnother excellent Navini experience We just made our third trip to Navini and it just keeps on delivering. Somehow, they to be able to improve on perfection.
I didn’t think it was possible but the food has only gotten better. Ana and the kitchen staff have from creating delicious meals to creating super-dooper delicious meals! Kids activities away from the dining area during the adults’ dinner is an added bonus.
One of the best things about Navini is that you get treated like a family member rather than a stranger. For return visitors, being greeted with a hug rather than an introduction is just one of many reasons that we will keep coming back.
Whether it’s new staff or ‘old hands’, everybody goes out of their way to make your holiday unforgettable.
Hot tip: one of my favourite activities happens after dinner when the staff come back to the dining area to drink kava and play vindi vindi. Don’t miss this great opportunity to get to know the people, learn about Fijian culture and day-to-day life, enjoy...

  • 5 star ratingHome away from Home - Truely Spectacular My husband and I enjoyed a Beautiful stay at the resort - truly spectacular. We only stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and it superseeds eveyrthing. The staffs get to learn your name and treat you like their own. We were greeted by Losalini who was there for us from begining to end. Thomas the islands Aquaman - his your snorkelling guide, super caring making sure that you are ok throughout the excursion. The dining staff Vini, Joka and others are on hand and meals are more then what you expect and super yummy. Volleyball in the afternoons with the staff is lots of fun, you don't have to be a pro to play volleyball. Last but not least you end the night with the traditional Kava drink with a game of Vividi. Truly spectacular staff who are amazing and super caring, with the beach right outside your bures and you have your own path to the beach from your own private bures what more can you... read more

  • 5 star ratingParadise - the best place you will ever go! If you've ever wondered what heaven might be like, then just go to Navini! We stayed here for 6 nights and it was the most wonderful place I've ever been, from the beautiful bure apartments you stay in, to the most stunning surroundings and sea always just a mere few metres away, to the incredible food which was made taking every dietary requirement into account (me and my mum are both veggie and dairy free and they went to such efforts, resulting in a week of some of the best food and cakes I've eaten!).
The staff here make the place even more special - so friendly, attentive, warm hearted.. nothing is too small (special shout out to Choka for being generally wonderful). After dinner they gather to play Fijian board games and drink kava with the guests (if you want to!) and it just gives you that insight into the culture as well which I really loved. The water around the island is a sanctuary, so the sea...

  • 5 star ratingPerfect for a family! Our family of 5 (three sons ages 4, 7 and 10) absolutely loved our time on Navini. The island is gorgeous and peaceful and we had our own private beach just steps from our burre. The snorkeling was the best we've experienced in Fiji. Each day Dumu took us to different spots and we saw so many amazing creatures. The food was quite delicious and they even change the kids meals everyday so the kids don't get tired of eating the same food. The fruit lollipops for dessert were a favorite of my boys! Each night, they have a kids activity during the adult communal dinner and it was one of our boys' favorite parts of the day. They took the boys to gather hermit crabs and played hide-and-seek and learned how to play Vidi Vidi and all the while, my husband and I were able to enjoy leisurely dinner. Our favorite part by far though was the staff. Jooka and... read more

  • 5 star ratingTropical Cyclone Sarai delivered a different Navini experience. We missed Henry meeting us at the airport, hope he is enjoying retirement, we wish him well. Finally we are being welcomed ‘home’ on the beach by Simone the owner, and friends from previous visits. It was supposed to be an extended family Christmas holiday but an expired passport by one resulted in just the two of us. They did make it to Fiji later but not to Navini. The resort with renovations completed looks beautiful. Christmas started with the staff singing carols outside the bures, a moving experience. A staff Church Service beautiful singing. Christmas Dinner was TC Sarai was on the way the seas were huge. Most guests opted to stay on the island. Winds increased , it was time to ‘batten down’. All boats taken to mainland marinas. Bure windows were boarded up, we were given meals and by early evening we were waiting ....we ate our dinner, drank some wine listening to the crashing surf and wind. I... read more

  • 5 star ratingTeeny, tiny paradise I read about Navini when researching great places to snorkel in Fiji, and it did not disappoint! There is a reef surrounding the island which you can access from the beach and see many fish and the ocassional reef shark and turtle. There were tiny black tip reef shark pups in the shallows almost constantly (to my unwavering delight!) The views were consistently stunning.
Almost every day we were taken on a snorkeling trip to another reef. Each trip was varied, but always awesome: The colours and shapes of the coral, the variety and density of the fish, the visibility! Consistently the best snorkelling I have pexperienced. I was so glad to see our guides never fed the fish (which some were clearly used to from other operators).
“Sea lice” were very prevalent while we were there (I didn’t research the best time of year to visit, so this may vary)! If you react badly to these, make sure you cover up. The upside: where there were sea lice, there...

  • 5 star ratingBeautiful get away What an amazing trip we had here. Such friendly and helpful staff. Food absolutely delicious (and big - be warned). You don't go hungry at all 🙂
The excursions were incredible. So much snorkeling, so much fun! Very peaceful as well.
Went into relaxation mode immediately. Felt like we'd been on holiday for a long time, it was only a week.
We had a few rolling thunderstorms that came though in the afternoon, then subsided by dinner.
Turtles, reef sharks, recovering coral, fish. Just incredible.

  • 5 star ratingBack for a dose of Paradise This was our fifth time at Navini, and once again Paradise found! This is not only due to the beautiful nature both above and below the water, but in large part due to the friendly staff at Navini, who go out of their way to make you feel at home. If you need a break from the hectic non-stop daily routine, this is the place to be!
After a four year break, it was wonderful to catch up with staff and other return visitors who are now friends. Accommodation has had a lovely face lift with more modern facilities and the biggest change was to the dining area and the menu. We enjoyed these changes, though would still be happy with the ‘old’.
A big Vinaka vakalevu to all the Staff at Navini! A truly memorable Christmas and stay for us.

  • 5 star ratingWonderful Family Time in Paradise Our Family group of 12, 70 years old down to 4 years old, have just returned home from a wonderful week on Navini Island. All of us were very sorry to leave, especially the children. Their new Fijian friends who took care of them and played with them after children's dinner hour were loved by the children and will be missed.
All of us had a fantastic time on the snorkeling trips with life jackets and swim noodles available for weaker swimmers. The reef around the island was also great, the coral is recovering from cyclone damage and there are lots of fish, shells, little sharks and turtles to see and not too many sea lice.
Some of the family have food allergies and intolerances which were very well catered for, nothing was too much trouble. All the meals were great, a little big for some of us. The tropical fruit platters were yummy. The most delicious birthday cake was made for us as 3 of the males had...

  • 5 star ratingStill a Magical place after 25 years We stayed at Navini for our Honeymoon 25 years ago and returned with our three kids in December 2018. The relaxing feel and very friendly staff was as good as it was 25 years ago. The island is truly a paradise with its great beaches, bures, activities and most importantly friendly caring staff. The five night there really gave our family a chance to reconnect and relax after a busy year. It will not be 25 years before we are back.

  • 5 star ratingWonderful taste of Fiji You can't go wrong choosing Navini for your Fiji vacation. This was our first time visiting Fiji and I liked the idea that after 24 hours of traveling someone would meet us at the airport and take us to our destination as soon as we arrived. Staying at Navini is so enjoyable. I never felt so safe and relaxed. The staff is amazing. This was our favorite place to stay in Fiji.
