Things to Do

Do as much or as little as you like on Navini Island

On Navini Island, your time is your own.
A major decision is whether to snorkel around Navini’s reef, join the complimentary morning outing which may be to the local village, dropline fishing over one of the neighbouring reefs, snorkelling around bombies and over bright coral walls, or visiting other island resorts.

From the Island, you can explore the coral reef sanctuary, take out the hobie-cat sailboat, borrow snorkelling gear to watch the colourful fish, try the sailboard, spyboard, kayaks, or the seacycles. All complimentary.

  • 5 star ratingAbsolutely amazing We had one of our best holiday on Navini with the whole family. We had absolute bliss. We loved the morning trips to different places, snorkelling was so beautiful. The staff looked after us and were fantastic with kids. They have tried to fulfil any request we had. And food was soooooo good. It was very sad to leave this paradise, but we will definitely try to come back again.

  • 5 star ratingNavini is all you hope for and more!! Bula! Let me begin by stating that nothing I write will do this place justice. You’ll have to take my word for it and visit for yourself. I had the good luck of finding this slice of paradise by scrolling through Google maps just looking for a nice place to stay in Fiji. The more I read the more I knew (hoped, really) that this would be the vacation we needed. Little did we know that the sum of the experience at Navini is so much greater than its parts, and would far surpass our expectations. The friendly greetings, the delicious meals, and the fact that you can do as much or as little with your days as you wish made it one of the best, relaxing, island vacations that we have experienced. We stayed in a premier bure and it was more than enough for our family of three. The reef just off our beach was as beautiful as advertised and we couldn’t have been happier with the... read more

  • 5 star ratingBack for a dose of Paradise This was our fifth time at Navini, and once again Paradise found! This is not only due to the beautiful nature both above and below the water, but in large part due to the friendly staff at Navini, who go out of their way to make you feel at home. If you need a break from the hectic non-stop daily routine, this is the place to be!
After a four year break, it was wonderful to catch up with staff and other return visitors who are now friends. Accommodation has had a lovely face lift with more modern facilities and the biggest change was to the dining area and the menu. We enjoyed these changes, though would still be happy with the ‘old’.
A big Vinaka vakalevu to all the Staff at Navini! A truly memorable Christmas and stay for us.

  • 5 star ratingAnother excellent Navini experience We just made our third trip to Navini and it just keeps on delivering. Somehow, they to be able to improve on perfection.
I didn’t think it was possible but the food has only gotten better. Ana and the kitchen staff have from creating delicious meals to creating super-dooper delicious meals! Kids activities away from the dining area during the adults’ dinner is an added bonus.
One of the best things about Navini is that you get treated like a family member rather than a stranger. For return visitors, being greeted with a hug rather than an introduction is just one of many reasons that we will keep coming back.
Whether it’s new staff or ‘old hands’, everybody goes out of their way to make your holiday unforgettable.
Hot tip: one of my favourite activities happens after dinner when the staff come back to the dining area to drink kava and play vindi vindi. Don’t miss this great opportunity to get to know the people, learn about Fijian culture and day-to-day life, enjoy...

  • 5 star ratingMeravigliosa esperienza! L'isola è piccola e con pochi bungalow, dall'atmosfera tranquilla e rilassata, che ti permette di staccare completamente la spina!
L'accoglienza è calorosa e familiare e cerca di coinvolgerti nella grande famiglia Navini!
Cucina eccellente e staff pronto a soddisfare ogni tua richiesta!
Una serata a settimana è dedicata alla cucina locale e alle tradizioni: bella esperienza!
La barriera corallina da un lato dell'isola è particolarmente bella ma noi siamo stati un po' sfortunati perché per alcuni giorni è stato ventoso.

  • 5 star ratingWonderful holiday experience Our second visit to this island, we returned because it is a beautiful place with very helpful and kind staff always willing to do extra for us. The bures are all beachfront and comfortable, the surrounding reef is a sanctuary and full of fish and coral, every day there was a free boat trip to other reefs to snorkel. The food was delicious and more than ample. The whole experience was restful and relaxing and we will return again.

  • 5 star ratingWe’ll be back It’s not hard to see why Navini has so many repeat visitors, it really is something special.
Firstly it’s only an hour from the airport, with 24/7 access so you don’t have to spend a night in transit (unlike more remote islands). Secondly there is plenty of space and privacy- each Bure has its own small garden with sun loungers, day bed or hammock. Thirdly a complimentary activity each morning helps strike the balance between leisure and action.
Add excellent food, friendly Fijian staff and a laid back vibe, and its makes for a great holiday.
We had a five day stay in a Deluxe Premier Bure, our friends stayed in a two room Bure, across the island from each other. Both Bures were reasonably spacious, modern and spotless. We shared sundowners each night on the sunset side of the island out of the wind, before heading off to dinner.
The shared dining table worked well, with most guests (mainly Australians, with a Spanish and NZ couple) ranging...

  • 5 star ratingService like no other... exceptional Whilst this is not a review for an overnight stay, my experience with the staff at this resort speak volumes of the service and hospitality at Navini.
We visited the island after a boat transfer between other islands went wrong and the staff here were only too happy to assist.
Looked after with coffee and the assistance of their boat to get us the rest of the way.... I can’t thank Navini staff and the resort enough.
    Impeccable help for weary travellers.

  • 5 star ratingPerfection! We just spent 5 perfect nights on Navini. Even though we were moving on to another resort (Likuliku on Malolo), we didn't want to leave! We split up our vacation up between the two resorts, thinking we might feel confined on a 6 acre island after 5 days but my wife and kids and I all would have been happy to stay another week (at least!) on Navini. Snorkeling on the north side of the island was as good as any of the other reefs we went to with plenty of corals, shells (just don't touch any live cones!), brightly colored fish, sharks (friendly), and turtles.
Bures were simple but clean and comfortable and felt very private. Very much enjoyed having a large, covered day bed outside on the sand for reading, napping, or just watching the Black-Tipped Reef sharks feeding on the small bait fish swimming a few feet off the shore. Chaise lounge chairs were also available even closer to the water...

  • 5 star ratingTake me back.... We had been thinking about coming to Navini for several years after reading about it on trip advisor and finally made our much awaited trip in October this year. We stayed for 10 nights and loved every minute.
We have always been impressed by the friendliness of the people in Fiji but from the moment we meet Henry at the airport we were greeted by name by all the staff which was a much appreciated first. The size of the resort and number of people suited us perfectly. Just big enough to enjoy a walk around easily and have a chance to meet all the other guests during meals. The communal dining was one of the highlights and we found everyone mixed easily and it worked really well. The meals were of very good quality and varied. I think we only just came round to repeating the menu after 10 days and there was still a choice for every meal. The kitchen and wait staff were very efficient and...

  • 5 star ratingBest Vacation Ever Wow, it is hard to know where to start! Our family, traveling together on this 10-day vacation, all agreed it was the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation we have ever experienced.

We were struck most by the positive spirit and hospitality of the staff, followed by the beauty and compactness of the island. By day two, the entire staff called you by your first name. They were personable and caring and could almost read your mind as to wants and desires. The accommodation, we stayed in, the family Villa, was modern, clean, and in a top state of repair. We had daily service that included a complete cleaning and new sheets and towels. Our family of five adults and one grandchild fit comfortably into this Bure. Each Bure has an outdoor hammock and a covered seating area on or adjacent to the beach. We were on the north side of the island and were treated to the most beautiful sunsets.
The dining area was a central hub of...

  • 5 star ratingSpot-on from beginning to end We completely enjoyed our visit to Navini Island. The location is awesome, the staff is great.
Staff took time to learn each of our names and ensure that we were taken care of. The facilities are casual but immaculate.
The snorkeling trip to nearby reefs were amazing.

  • 5 star ratingI'd give 6 stars if I could This is the perfect resort for casual relaxation. From the moment we arrived we felt part of the Navini family. The hardest decision of my day was whether to relax on the extremely comfortable double daybed, hammock or sunloungers. Replies to emails before arrival were prompt. Arrival times are flexible.Henry, based on Vitu Levu, can pick up anytime to transport you on the half hour journey by road to the Vuda Marina to rendezvous with the boat. There is no jetty so it was shoes off to paddle ashore. There was quite a swell when we arrived and we had to transfer into a smaller boat which would have been quite a challenge for the less nimble. The bures are all beachfront and privately screened by greenery. Not only was there a welcome fruit cocktail there was a welcome fruit basket in the fridge and a complimentary alcoholic beverage was brought to the bure to help us settle in . The bed was comfortable and the ocean was visible .There is no air conditioning... read more

  • 5 star ratingFabulous stay at Navini! Beautiful, peaceful, paradise, Navini was even better than we expected! We stayed in a premier deluxe Bure literally on the beach which was fabulous. Snorkeling around the Island was excellent and the daily boat trips to other reefs were also great. We had opted for the two meals a day which were always of a very high standard. Above anything else I must make mention of the staff who in my opinion will not be bettered in any 5 star hotel, customer service was incredible, every staff member knows your name and uses it for the duration of your stay. They were all genuinely kind and happy to help in anyway they could to make our stay even better. I cannot fault anything about Navini it really is perfect in every way. Thankyou to all your staff for making our trip so enjoyable. We will be back!

  • 5 star ratingNirvana (a desert island paradise) We first started holidaying in Fiji in the eighties, and having stayed at many different resorts over the years, having finally landed with Navini as our nirvana. For more information, please see my other Fiji reviews and photos.
This was our 5th visit to Navini – so in Navini terms we are only relative newcomers!
Once again the island, staff and snorkelling delivered 100% to our expectations, gleaned originally from reading Trip Advisor reviews, then talking to long term returnees during past visits, and our own experiences.
That said, this year, for the first time, we realised Navini may not suit everyone.
In past reviews I have always focussed on what Navini is, so I thought this year I should focus on what it isn’t, and who it may not suit.
In our view, Navini is not for those who:
    • prefer to listen to their own loud music on their portable speakers during the communal gathering for pre-dinner drinks, rather than enjoy the tranquil desert island atmosphere
    • enjoy their own boisterous gathering in...

  • 5 star ratingTeeny, tiny paradise I read about Navini when researching great places to snorkel in Fiji, and it did not disappoint! There is a reef surrounding the island which you can access from the beach and see many fish and the ocassional reef shark and turtle. There were tiny black tip reef shark pups in the shallows almost constantly (to my unwavering delight!) The views were consistently stunning.
Almost every day we were taken on a snorkeling trip to another reef. Each trip was varied, but always awesome: The colours and shapes of the coral, the variety and density of the fish, the visibility! Consistently the best snorkelling I have pexperienced. I was so glad to see our guides never fed the fish (which some were clearly used to from other operators).
“Sea lice” were very prevalent while we were there (I didn’t research the best time of year to visit, so this may vary)! If you react badly to these, make sure you cover up. The upside: where there were sea lice, there...

  • 5 star ratingAmazing- Paradise Island and as brilliant as it sounds! We visited Navini in December 2018, having gone through a few of the reviews we had very high expectations and Navini did not disappoint. The Island itself is beautiful and kept to such a high standard, the food is outstanding and the staff really make your time here so memorable.
The day trips that are offered are the perfect way to explore the surroundings but staying on the island is equally as enjoyable.
We enjoyed dining with the other guests which at first we thought would be out of our comfort zone but was a really great part of the trip.
The majority of guests on the Island had visited many times before and we can understand why.
Navini is the most magical and beautiful place we have ever visited and will have a special place in our hearts always.
    We can't wait to return.

  • 5 star ratingParadise Found If you need (like we did) a complete break from the hectic humdrum of modern life, then Navini is for you. If you want a bland, 5 star, expensive low quality food, no beach resort that could in fact be anywhere then it probably isn't. The quintessential Fiji experience - amazing staff, comfortable bures, beautiful island and incredible food. We will definitely be back 🙂 Vinaka!

  • 5 star ratingWhat more can I say..Still beautiful one day perfect the next. Travelled with family for Christmas staying in the spacious family villa. Worked perfectly for 7 of us.
Nice to see the renovations to the bar/dining completed, it looks amazing.
Christmas day started with the pre dawn carol singing by staff outside the bures, Church Service after breakfast then a relaxing day until Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings.
Catching up with many other Christmas returnees is always nice.
    Perfect weather too.
The family left and we moved to our favourite south side bure for the rest of our stay .
New Year was excellent. Starting with a lovo dinner then moving outside to the new area outside the bar overlooking the beach for the evenings entertainment. The staff excelled. Commencing with a traditional kava ceremony followed by traditional singing and dancing, timed perfectly to end with the countdown to midnight, when fireworks stareted with a bang. All around on the surrounding islands and mainland the sky lit up. Wow!
Tropical cyclone Mona was hovering to the north east and eventually...

  • 5 star ratingA Peaceful Escape When searching for a place to unwind and disconnect from the hustle of city life, look no further than Navini. From the moment you arrive, the entire staff knows your name and is there to welcome you with kindness. They picked me up from the airport and drove me to the boat house where I was then put on a short boat ride to Navini. The fact that there is no tv or radio music playing anywhere on the island makes you listen to the sounds of the ocean and nature. There are no day trippers so there is a sense of calm and peace constantly. The food is absolutely delicious and they can accommodate any dietary requests. As I was a solo traveler I was sat with other guests at meals where we all became friends. It was such a warm environment. Surrounding the island is a reef where I snorkeled every day, sometimes guided by Thomas. They provide day trips for more snorkeling and visiting nearby islands.... read more
